Mother’s Day Madness!

March 31, 2014

Mother’s Day saw a new record set for The Granary for the most afternoon teas served in one day! During the course of the day, 130 full afternoon teas were served to much deserving mummies and their families. The day was wonderfully warm and sunny so the lawn and terrace was used for the first time this year and our guests could enjoy the beautiful view complete with new lambs frolicking in the field.

We reckon we served over 200 sandwiches, 250 slices of cake and too many gallons of tea to count!

A lovely time was had by all and we received some lovely compliments, some of which are below:

  • We all had a fabulous afternoon, thank you! Such a warm welcome and delicious treats, perfect!
  • Had a fantastic time today, lovely afternoon tea, with fantastic service in an relaxing beautiful setting. Well worth a visit, will be back soon. Thankyou xx
  • ★★★★★ Big thanks to The Granary for a lovely mothers day lunch, good food good service, lovely location.
  • It was lovely can’t wait to come over in the summer, the girls loved playing on the lawn outside

If you didn’t get to come along on Sunday we serve afternoon tea every day from 2-5pm. It’s £19.95 per person which includes a selection of finger sandwiches, cakes and petit fours, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam and a choice of Teapigs tea or coffee. You can add a glass of Prosecco for £3.95 per person which complements the afternoon tea perfectly.

We will be doing it all again for Father’s Day on Sunday 15th June. Check the website for details and how to book. It’ll be afternoon tea with a manly twist, it’s not just for girls you know!
